My name is Leanne and I am from West Virginia. I am new to blogging and kind of confused on how it all works, but I am sure with time I will learn how to easily blog. I am a college student and this blog is a requirement for one of my classes, Creating Wellness. The class is based on how to be healthy within your mind as well as your body. I just finished listening to a relaxation exercise which had calming and melodic music playing in the background. The voice of the man assisting you to a rested and relaxed state is very soothing, which almost makes me want to fall asleep. I suppose that is an indicator that I became extremely relaxed through the exercise. I was a bit tired before I began listening to the relaxation exercise which may have been an influence in how relaxed I became. But, all in all I feel as though I became relaxed through my thoughts and the assistance of the exercise.

Hi Leanne,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that the man's voice was so relaxing! It is hard to not fall asleep at times. We keep ourselves so busy, but I think we need more of these stolen moments to connect with something deeper.
I am new to blogging too. I live in Alaska.
Talk soon,
Robin
Leanne: The music and the tranquility of the speaker's voice was very relaxation. I think that the background sounds such as soft music and running water is essential for me in beginning the relaxation process.
ReplyDeleteI also struggle with this blogging stuff but I think practice makes perfect. We are all of to a good start. Good job with you blog.

Hi Leanne,
ReplyDeleteI too am new to blogging, as with everything else we do I'm sure by the end of week ten we will all be pros.
As for the relaxation exercise the first time I tried listening to it I was in homework mode, after working all day, I found it hard to relax. I decided to stop and try again when I didn't have to jump right back into homework or work. When I listened the second time I was prepared to relax. I found this time I was able to let the sound of the man's voice and the music take me to a very relaxed state. I'm hoping to learn how to be able to take these relaxation breaks even during a busy day to keep myself from becoming overwhelmed and able to walk the path of total wellness.

Leanne,
ReplyDeleteThe fellow West "by God" Virginia girl!! Blogging is not really my thing either..It takes a lot of practice and the eye of the late teens and early twenties generation to look and say...Mom this is really easy! I tend to fume at that point...glasses on the tip of my nose and a glare in my eye...I am just a bit older than you...and our idea of the blogging thing was to yell out side of the house of the person you wanted to play with that day!
Anyway back to the point here...the relaxing thing with the guy talking has not been a positive experience for me...I tend to relax more with the sounds of nature or native American music...I currently have Spirit Dreams that I listen to, this gives my mind a chance to expand and undue the button and let it all hang out...I am tense most of the day and have a difficult time relaxing...so when I find something that works....I use it as much as I can...I have always been known to hit the river and turn off the technology and still enjoy the sounds of nature...and let the time alone to myself, my husband, and animals recharge the batteries...Great blog post!
Hi Leanne! I am not used to blogging at all but I guess I am learning...slowly. I also had the same experience when I listened to the exercise, I felt so tired, but also a sense of gathering myself and focusing on the strength in me. I enjoyed the exercise and like to meditate on my own when I can, it keeps me collected.
